Sabrina Fidalgo<\/strong> will present the work Black Joy<\/strong><\/em>, which she created especially for the “Afirma\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong>” exhibition currently on show at Galerie du Jour<\/strong>, and talk to art critic and curator Ademar Britto<\/strong>. Together, they will discuss the affirmation of black artists on the Brazilian art scene and in Brazilian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ademar Britto<\/strong>, born in Manaus (Amazonas) in 1989 and based in Rio de Janeiro, is a doctor with degrees from the Universidade do Estado do Amazonas and the Universit\u00e9 Paris V Ren\u00e9 Descartes, specializing in cardiovascular sciences. He is also an art collector and curator, with a diploma in curatorial studies from the Parque Lage School of Visual Arts in Rio de Janeiro. He has written critical texts and organized exhibitions for emerging and historical artists, participating in the international exhibition and fair circuit. He has curated the Rio de Janeiro Art Fair (ArtRio) since 2022 and is responsible for the SOLO section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabrina Fidalgo<\/strong>, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1979 and based in Rio de Janeiro, is a film director. Her films have been shown at over 300 national and international festivals. In March 2018, the American publication Bustle ranked her eighth among 36 female directors worldwide who are pioneers in their own countries. In 2022, her video installation “Voyage, Voyage<\/strong>” – a work created during a period of confinement during the pandemic – was selected by the prestigious Brazilian art gallery A Gentil Carioca<\/em> to take part in the 17th edition of the group exhibition “Abre-Alas<\/strong>“. Her participation marks her debut as a visual artist. Since 2021, she has also been a columnist for Vogue Brazil. Her current projects include the feature documentary “Time to Change<\/strong>” and the fiction feature “Karnaval<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
