This book paints a photographic portrait of domesticity, imbued with luminosity and eroticism.
eroticism. Brazilian artist Marcos Chaves (b. 1961) uses photography, installation, video, text and sound to alter our perception of the world. In this work, Chaves explores his domestic environment through seemingly casual snapshots, with plays of light and unintentional eroticism that reveal playful references to art history.
Marcos Chaves was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1961, and began his artistic activities in the early
1980s. Using the parameters of appropriation and intervention, the artist works
freely from the production of objects to that of photographs, videos, drawings, words and sons.
