Our commitments

fonds de dotation agnès b.

A lifetime commitment

fonds de dotation agnès b. was created in 2009 to structure philanthropy and sponsorship operations, in which the agnès b. brand and agnès in person have engaged for almost forty years.

The endowment fund embodies a lifetime commitment and encapsulates a particular mindset: that of sharing.

Convinced that society´s future should rest upon solidarity and generosity, agnès b. supports a large number of organizations engaging in humanitarian or social causes, as well as cultural projects.

Understanding today’s world, supporting, innovating

fonds de dotation agnès b.’s decision to work with non-profit organizations and charities involves a close analysis of the issues at stake, in the short and the long run. The aim of fonds de dotation agnès b. is to fill gaps, back organizations, and assist cultural or civic actors beyond the scope of public or institutional support.

fonds de dotation agnès b.develops and supports advocacy operations or actions in favour of solidarity, whatever the format—exhibitions, publications, or other. To achieve this goal, the endowment fund works with a large spectrum of actors: artists, photographers, non-profits, public institutions, etc.

Sharing to develop solidarity

fonds de dotation agnès b. works with over twenty non-profits and charities from all over the world, acting in every sector: literacy, children’s rights, refugee support, access to water and healthcare, fighting AIDS, women empowerment…

It offers long-term support to year-round operations, while also helping with emergency responses to social and humanitarian crises.

Art, Culture and Creation: from reflection to action, and from action to diffusion

Every year, fonds de dotation agnès b. supports the projects of artists at every stage in the creative process: development, production and post-production. Its support is intended essentially for the most financially exposed projects. It also enables artists to exhibit their works to public and professional audiences.

Showing art differently

Through la galerie du jour agnès b., which opened on rue du Jour in Paris in 1984 and moved to rue Quincampoix in 1997, and through diverse contemporary art shows, such as Paris Photo and Photodoc, fonds de dotation agnès b. organizes several solo and group exhibits every year.

The mission of fonds de dotation agnès b. includes the conservation and presentation of agnès b.’s art collection, which now comprises nearly 5,000 pieces. The collection was shown at Lille Métropole – musée d’Art moderne, d’Art contemporain et d’Art brut (LAM) in 2015, at Musée national de l’histoire de l’immigration in 2016, at Collection Lambert in Avignon in 2017, and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie Arles, in 2019.

Tara and the commitment for the planet

fonds de dotation agnès b. fights for the environment through Fondation Tara Océan, which makes a remarkable contribution to the preservation of the oceans.

Studying and understanding the impact of climate change and the ecological crisis on the oceans is an extension of a humanist commitment and sense of responsibility toward the planet and future generations.

This mission to study the environment, to contribute to scientific research, and to raise awareness has also become an artistic residency, as seen on Operations Méditerranée 2014 and Pacifique 2016, which were both supported by fonds de dotation agnès b. at the time.
