I wanted to create a gallery to show what I like. Painting, sculpture, photography. But also to show what stands right next to and behind things and invent new ways to circulate images : sketches, stencils, serigraphs, engravings, etc. One will also be able to visit shows organized by la galerie du jour. The venue still looks a bit rough raw, like the former butchery that used to be there. I hope it will become a lively place where one would enjoy stopping by and coming back.” agnès b.

agnès b., stylist and collector, opened Galerie du Jour in 1984 across from her first boutique, next to the Saint-Eustache church in a former butcher’s shop in the Les Halles district of Paris. In 1996, the gallery expanded, moving to rue Quincampoix and finally settling on the first floor of La Fab. The agnès b. endowment fund was established in February 2020.

True to Agnès’s artistic commitment, the gallery has always supported the artists she cares about, whether historical figures or emerging talents, and highlights unique approaches, regardless of style or medium. Each exhibition is born from encounters and affinities dear to Agnès, making Galerie du Jour a vibrant space dedicated to discovery, loyalty, and sharing.

In keeping with this spirit, the Librairie du Jour, designed in dialogue with the gallery, offers a selection of works on contemporary art as well as all the publications supported by the agnès b. endowment fund. Its program, attentive to current artistic and literary events, comes alive with signings, launches and performances.

On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the Galerie du Jour, La Fab. collaborates with students from LISAA’s Master 1 in Animated Media.
