Roberto Martinez

Born in France – Lives and works in Paris

Roberto Martinez has developed a mixed-media artistic practice (publishing, photography, video, installations) that explores the production and movement of images, and the political and social impact of their induction in various contemporary currents. The artist likes to bring art into the public space (parks, flyers, urban projects, postering), as shown by his Textes series of stickers, started in 1995. He brought that pamphleteering approach to his exhibition at galerie du jour agnès b.: Artistes, encore un effort.

As curator of several exhibitions focusing on popular art and allotopia (challenging traditional political places of Art), he co-organizes the Art and Ecosophia seminar (University of Paris-Saint Denis – Sapienza University, Rome).
